Zindagi Trust Celebrates its 5th Year

A Small ceremony was organized to celebrate the completion of 5 years of Zindagi Trust. President of the Trust, Mr. Shehzad Roy and the management team were present at the occasion. Shehzad Roy gave a motivational speech in which he emphasized on the importance of education and how education can change their lives. He also highlighted the fact that education has the power to redraft their fate and ensure a life of their dreams.

The rise in poverty, illiteracy and child labor at an alarming rate is a major cause of concern for the society. In order to combat these menaces, Zindagi Trust was incepted. With the vision To be a leader in providing opportunities for a better life through education to the underprivileged working children in Pakistan, Zindagi Trust started its journey 5 years ago in March 2002. Since then, it has come a long way and is still going strong with a lot of plans for future under the same vision. It has accomplished many of its goals. Some of them are briefed about in this article.

  • Starting with the revolutionary “I am paid to learn” schools, with educational staff increasing manifolds.
  • Computer labs have already been started in 3 schools.
  • Opened a Dispensary (Mother & Child Healthcare Center) and First Girl's Secondary School in the area of Sultanabad, Shahdadpur.
  • Achieved the honor of being a pioneer in arranging the first ever-pop concert of Bryan Adams in Pakistan that did wonders to Pakistan's standing globally.
  • Active participant in the earthquake relief program.

Shehzad Roy also sang for the children and made sure that they had a good time, a much-deserved escape from their strenuous schedule. Refreshments were served in the end and Shehzad Roy bid farewell to the happy children.
