Samsung Electronics, the official Presenting Partner for Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch relay hosted a nomination ceremony for the Torch Bearers from Pakistan. The ceremony was held at Sheraton Hotel Mr. Roh, Country Manager, Samsung Electronics was the chief guest on the occasion. Shehzad Roy, Strings, Vaneeza Ahmed, Hameed Haroon, Samiullah Khan and Najma Vohra have been nominated as the Torchbearers nominations from Pakistan. The nomination of these people as Olympic Torchbearer is based on their outstanding contributions to the society and improving economic condition of the underprivileged population.
Speaking on the gracious occasion, Mr. Roh, Country Manager, Samsung Electronics said, “ I believe that any Olympic experience is dream-come true. Carrying the Olympic Torch on its way to Beijing for the 2008 Olympic games will be a moment that the torchbearers will never forget. Samsung is proud to contribute in assisting the torch to pass through Pakistan as a history creating moment.”
Expressing his views on the occasion, Mr. Shehzad Roy, President, Zindagi Trust said that games are integral part alongside studies to build an overall personality of a person. Mr. Shehzad Roy viewed the Olympic Torch Relay a very important event and showed his excitement of being part of Beijing 2008 Olympic Torchbearers.
