SMB Fatima Jinnah Government Girls' Secondary School participates in the Sixth Science Olympiad

Zindagi Trust sent three students of SMB Fatima Jinnah Government Girls' Secondary School named Farzana M. Rafique, Samia Noushad Ali and Mahnoor M. Ashqeen accompanied by two-science teachers Ms. Tasneem and Ms. Shama to participate in The Sixth Science Olympiad organized by Science Association of Pakistan (SAP) for grade V111 on Saturday February 9, 2008 at The Aga Khan University- Institute For Educational Development (IED).

It has been a good experience for SMB students since it was their first participation in this type & magnitude of event. During the event students got the opportunity to participate in science process skills activities and interact with students of different levels of schools of Karachi.

These activities were aimed to test students' knowledge of science subject, their ability to work in a team and test their time management skill. It was a great learning experience for the students to participate in this event, which certainly added new knowledge. Though none of them could secure the top three positions but the participation itself in this Olympiad raised their level of confidence and courage, which will enable them to participate, improve and perform in such event in the future.

The honorable chief guest, Acting Chairman of HEJ of Karachi University, delivered the speech and gave away prizes. Dr. Memon, Director IED gave certificates to all the participants of 46 schools.
