Sports teacher selected in top 10 in Asian football coaching course

Ambreen Hameed, one of the star sports teachers at SMB Fatima Jinnah Government Girls School, was recently selected as one of the 18 women to participate in the 14-day training for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) ‘C’ Certificate Women Coaching Course held to promote the sport in the country. She was one of only six participants from Karachi and completed the course ranked in the top 10.

The training was led by former Pakistan men’s team coach Tariq Lutfi, along with the country’s first AFC license B woman coach Kiran Ilyas. Ahmed Yar Khan, Secretary of the Pakistan Football Federation said that the course intended to give confidence to women coaches, equipping them with the latest knowledge in order to supplement ongoing efforts for the overall promotion of the game.

Ambreen has one of the most recognizable smiles at Fatima Jinnah School and as the senior-most sports teacher at the school, she seems to have a passion for sharing her love for sport with all the girls in her class. As a graduate of the certificate course, she is now qualified to coach club and provincial teams anywhere in Asia. We are continuously thrilled to have someone as talented and dedicated as Ambreen coaching our schoolgirls – well done!
