Zindagi
Trust, in collaboration with Intermach of Russia and Mercury
Group of Companies of Pakistan and, brought the artists
from the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, Stanislavskiy
and Nemirovich- Danchenko Moscow Academic Musical theatre,
New Opera Theatre, Tchaikovsky Moscow State conservatoire,
Kremlin Ballet theatre an state Academic theatre of Classical
Ballet to Pakistan for an artistic tour of opera and ballet.
Also partnering with Zindagi Trust in this event was Konica-Minolta
as the photography partners.
The
Russian Opera & Ballet show took place on Sunday, April
17th, 2005 at the DHA Golf Club mesmerizing the Karachi
audience, after receiving glowing reviews from the elite
of Islamabad, including the President of Pakistan General
Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz as well
as Ambassadors, Ministers, Secretaries and other high-ranking
officials on April 14th & 15th, 2005.
The
show featured many historic Opera and ballet premieres,
including Tchaikovsky’s La Voyavoda, Mazeppa, and
Swan Lake, Rachmaninoff’s Aleko and Francesca da Rimini,
and Gilnka’s lvan Sussanin and Ruslan and Ludmila. |
