Day-trip to Islamabad for Zindagi students

An educational field trip was arranged for the students in the Zindagi Trust North Region on 6th May, 2006. The objective behind the trip was entertainment cum education for these students. They attend 3-hour classes, six days a week; simultaneously working to earn a living for their families leaving them no time for leisure and entertainment.

The places decided for the trip were the Zoo and Japanese Park in Islamabad. Over 500 students registered in Zindagi Trust’s 12 schools in Rawalpindi, Gujar Khan and Taxila were taken from their respective campuses. The first stop was the Zoo where the students were briefed about various species of animals present by their teachers. "It was incredible to see their innocent faces fill with awe at the sight of huge animals like Lions, Elephants, Crocodiles and the likes." said Mr. Tasawer, acting Regional Coordinator - North

The next stop was the Japanese park where children enjoyed thoroughly. They got a chance to sit, relax, enjoy and make friends with other students of Zindagi Trust schools. Boys teamed up and played different games like cricket, football, etc while the girls cheered them on.

The trip ended with goody bags filled with eatables distributed among the children. The entire trip was covered by ATV channel, whose crew also accompanies the children.
