Zindagi Trust initiates a comprehensive teachers' development project
   

The first session of the comprehensive teachers' development program has started in Zindagi Trust schools nationwide for all teachers' employed at the "I am paid to learn" schools. Through this program the management of Zindagi Trust aims at improving the quality of Education through an on going professional development support to the teachers and other staff directly involved in the process of imparting education to these working children population of Pakistan. 

"The program aims at improving teaching and learning at school level. After attending the program the participants will able to re-analyze their roles and responsibilities as teachers, enhance their understanding of lesson planning and classroom management, use of low/no cost teaching material and curriculum development in order to make the learning of these working children more meaningful." remarked Ms. Saima Zareen Ali, the Head of Zindagi Trust Academic Team. 

"Through this program the teachers will be exposed to different teaching learning strategies, such as cooperative learning, group discussion and problem solving." Ms.Ali further adds.

The team of facilitators included Saima Zareen Ali, Jahanara Shiraz, Ghazala Mursaleen and Shimza Shehreen.

This will be followed by three more phases that will develop the teachers training content knowledge capacity of: curriculum development, syllabus and scheme of work, assessment methods and practices, multiple intelligence and teaching methods. The four-phase teachers development program will conclude in June 2007.
