Delegation from the Embassy of Japan recently visited the Zindagi Trust Regional Office in Rawalpindi along with trip to “I am paid to learn” school. Mr. Hisao Nishimaki is Director of Press, Information and Culture Department in Embassy of Japan, along with Mr. Takashi Miyata, Consultant Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) and Mr Sajid Abbasi, Media Adviser visited the North Regional office of Zindagi Trust to hands on review our project.
After the office visit the delegates also visited Zindagi Trust Chah Sultan Campus and interacted with the student. On learning that these children work in the morning as mechanics, scavengers, hawkers etc and then from 14:00 to 17:00 hours they come to the schools to study, they were very impressed by the energy and the commitment of the children.
According to Mr.Takashi Miyata, ”The concept of (Zindagi Trust) school is a very interesting one and I wish the students the best of luck.” They further praised Zindagi Trusts efforts in trying to curb the menace of illiteracy in Pakistan and coming up with a revolutionary program like “I am paid to learn”.
