23 boys from Classes 3-5 participated in the Inter-School Boys’ Football Competition held at Malir Halt on the 17th of February 2012 including Haris, Mohammad, Badar, Hamza, Osama. The team did exceptionally well given this was their first time on such a stage – they made it to the final, losing out to champions Shah Faisal School.
The final was a closely-fought game. Both teams were unable to score a goal in the two 15-minute halves and the result of the championship was decided on penalties which our team lost 5-4.
The boys enjoyed taking part in a sports competition after a long time. In general, they were pleased to have played well and also excited about having learned some new tricks. Hamza, one of the strikers who made his penalty, said playing in the competition taught him good technique.
