The preliminary results for the students from SMB Fatima Jinnah Government Girls School who appeared for the SSC Part II Exams (10th Grade Board Exams) have been announced for both the General Group and the Science Group.
There is an overall improvement in the result in comparison to the board exam performance of Fatima Jinnah students from last year (as well as their performance over the last five years).
In the General Group almost 80% of the class was successful in the examinations, up nearly 10% from last year. In the Science Group, a healthy 81% of the class cleared their examinations successfully, but the pass percentage did go down by 4 percentage points.
However, the academic team is pleased with the otherwise positive change in the grade distribution of the Science Group, in which the number of A grades has doubled since last year so that an impressive 48% of the class has achieved A or A+ grades. Similarly, in the General Group, the percentage of the class obtaining A or A+ grades has increased from 3.5% to nearly 10%, and the percentage obtaining B grades or above has increased from 20% to a substantial 41%.
The academic team is pleased with the generally improved and satisfying results while remaining cognizant that a marked effort is still required to shore up student performance, specially to check the shortcomings of the struggling students in the Science Group. (It must be added that the results of 11 students from the Science Group have not been released yet, so these numbers may change).
